Golden Court (Dim Sum)

This is the place where our love affair with suburban eats began about 8 months ago. A recent second visit reinforced that chowing ardour.

The keyword here is fresh. The dim sum is ordered a la carte off a you-fill-it-in menu on the table. The dumplings always arrive steaming and plump.

The stand-out item is the sui mai (pork and shrimp steamed dumplings). At other places, I can take or leave these. I find they pack an incredibly greasy punch in a tiny package, almost like a Chinese version of pigs-in-a-blanket. Golden Court sui mai are almost a different species - a flavourful mix of lean pork and mushrooms topped with a whole shrimp. So big they require two bites, unless you gluttony gets the better of you.

Speaking of appetite, be prepared to wait about 30 mintues for a seat on the weekend.

Lunch for six adults and one toddler $66 before tip.
